Carla Jones concentrates her practice in the area of real estate. She has represented lenders, developers, corporations and individuals in land acquisitions and sales, real estate financing, loan closings and related matters. She has also represented Condominium Associations, Cooperatives and Homeowners Associations in all related matters. Additionally, Ms. Jones has practiced in the areas of creditor collections, banking law, corporate/commercial transactions and of course, mortgage law.
Carla Jones graduated in 1993 with a Bachelors of Science in Finance from the University of Florida. She then joined Mellon United National Bank as an analyst before returning to the University of Florida to complete her Juris Doctor, class of 1998. She then returned back to Mellon via Lewis R. Cohen, P.A., a firm that serves as general counsel for all Mellon Branches and locations in South Florida. Ms. Jones is a licensed Florida Mortgage Broker and a title agent for Attorney's Title Insurance Fund and National Title Insurance Company. Ms. Jones is a member of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the Dade County Bar Association, Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association and Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association. She lectures on topics related to community associations, banking and mortgages. Also, she is a frequent career day speaker in local Miami-Dade County Public Schools. |
